DJ Walter Capote

At a very early age, Walter Capote found a love for music. When he was only two years old, in his native Cuba, he was banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons as though they were drums trying to imitate his uncle who was a professional drummer. Shortly after, his family moved to Miami where he further pursued his musical talents.

In later years he joined the band playing various other musical instruments such as the trumpet, keyboard, and drums. When his junior high school needed someone to provide music for a dance they were hosting but had limited funds, they asked if he could offer his already extensive music collection. He gladly agreed. Little did he know that this would be a turning point in his life.

After this successful school dance, he found that he enjoyed making people dance and he hurried home to tell his parents of his accomplishment. They encouraged him to continue his newly found passion by buying him his first DJ equipment with the promise that with every party he did, he would give them a percentage for their investment. From this agreement, DJ Walter was born into the world of the DJ.

He soon started acquiring new and important contacts at various local banquet halls and night clubs. At the age of 15, he started playing music at a local hot spot in his hometown. By age 17 he had already played at many of South Florida`s popular nightclubs. He found that the true art of DJing was playing what the crowd wanted to hear and keeping them wanting more!

A few years later, he started spinning at Miami`s #1 radio station, at the time, Power 96.5 FM. Playing along side of such popular DJ`s such as DJ Mohammed Morretta, Lazaro Mendez (DJ Laz), Phil Jones, and DJ Rene Carrasco, he sharpened his skills.

Since then he has been gaining popularity on the DJ scene and has performed at a number of nightclubs and events throughout Miami, such as:
